Organizing Around Google Resources

The weak link between mashed up webpages suddenly became apparent when the website storing the images in Blogger Brigade's template went offline. While the substance of the information was not affected, there was a noticeable difference in the presentation of the webpage.

The ongoing work on the Benevolent Blogger template is already exploring Google Sites (see Bloggerized Templates) as a viable solution for technical support and documentation. To these, one more will be added—a storage for images. Currently, all images uploaded at blogger.com find their way to Google's Picasa web albums. Unfortunately, Picasa web albums do not provide friendly URL's and the links are generally inaccessible. With reliability and usability as emerging critical metrics, Google Sites as a solution is becoming more attractive.

According to BlogMechanic, a usable Benevolent Blogger template will be available by end of the week which will incorporate the new coding style and links.
